Seamus.... Yes, it is true. The link to the discussion John posted is where this new DS policy is being discussed.
SolidWorks "Expired Subscriptions" will be switching to a “full backdating” format 1/1/16
just bumping it back up the list so it goes up to the top of the latest posts and it wont go missing.
If you reply to the message to bump it up and then go back to your "bump" message and delete it, It will bump it but not add a bunch of "bump" responses in the posting.
That gives you the same bump results but only leaves the comments so the post is not as cluttered with extra replies to bump the status.
We have been doing this on the backdating post mentioned above - SolidWorks "Expired Subscriptions" will be switching to a full backdating format 1/1/16
