I need to find a way to get my sketch wrapped around my 3D object but my sketch has to also become a 3D object.
This is my solution using 2015.
I am assuming that you are wrapping something like a flexible circuit board around this object and the board itself is longer than the perimeter of the round object. (I removed all the features from your posted part)
I looked at your part, and the sketch that is showing, but am having a hard time envisioning how this sketch is going to wrap around the part and create geometry. Can you explain more?
Sorry I know it is very confusing, but i am trying to make the sketch from my file a part alone. I needs to wrap around that 3D part tho. Think of it as I have that 3D part and a flat piece of paper cut out into my sketch shape. The paper needs to wrap around my object and match it perfectly.
Seems this topic is duplicated: Deboss Wrap on a Revolved Base
Thank you so much for your help this is what i was looking for!!!!
Hi Miranda (I feel like I should be reading you your rights). I've studied your part and am wondering are you looking to end up with something like this?
This was done in sheet metal (all sketch bends) (as Jamil Snead and Deepak suggested)). In order for this to work out I did have to alter your sketch some.
This is the flat pattern and you may notice that the "note symbol" is at an angle in order to make it perpendicular to the circumference of the imported part. In your latest post on another thread (I'm to blame for that) You showed two circular features side by side. Do you want those bent over 180deg?
Let me know if I'm on the right track.
Yes this is what I need and have been trying to do. Is there anyway you could explain?
