Hi folks -
As I zip around through my design work, I sometimes forget what folder location the currently open part or assembly is stored.
As a longtime Inventor user, I would often select the top level document name in the design tree and select 'properties' which would display all the
info related to the currently open part or assembly, like it's file path, name, material, mass, etc.
Any ideas or thoughts?

RMB on the part in the feature tree and go to properties. It will show you the model document path.

Quicker yet, just click on the document's name at the very top center of the screen....
If you are talking about a part within an assembly you can right mouse click the part, select component properties and look at model document path..

After 6 solid years of Inventor at my previous job, I was a bit nervous not knowing where my familiar powerful daily tools were. Theres nothing like those moments when someone asks you for something quick and all the buttons and their names have been changed.

If you need you can also open the folder where the file is saved. Click on the folder icon next to file name
