I've just accidentally saved over a .sldprt file. Is there any way to recover it? I didn't have the backup functionality turned on.
Maybe if you have previous versions turned on in Windows Explorer. Browse to the file, right click, select properties and go to the previous versions tab.
That only had a version for two days ago, not sure why?
In the Previous Versions Tab there is a link to Wndows help "How do I ue previous versions?" Try looking at the FAQ "Can I restore a file or folder that was deleted or renamed?"
After this, I HIGHLY recommend turning the backup option on.
This is how I have mine set. I choose a new location not what SW does out of the box. Easier to find this way for me.
I don't bother with Auto-Recover. Never worked very well for me. But the standard backups saved my bacon many a time.
I also like multiple levels of the backups so I set to 5. They increment every time you save.
Thanks, got all of that turned on now. At a new company so didn't realise it wasn't on by default!
