Hi Everyone,
Quick question...I'm a bit familiar with SW Frequency analysis to obtain the natural frequencies of a part. What I want to know is if SolidWorks Simulation could determine the frequency produced by a rotating object.
For example, If a propeller rotates at 200 rpm, what is the frequency produced by the rotating motion of the propeller. ie. what frequency does it excite onto parts supporting the propeller assembly.
I'd appreciate any help or guidance on this,
Thanks in advance.
David
The main frequency a 200 rpm fan will excite is 200 rev/min * 1 min/60 sec = 10/3 = 3.3 Hz. This frequency is excited by the rotation of the center of gravity. Other modes in the fan are much less important unless the fan is very well balanced.
