I am having trouble creating this loft feature on my SW part. I am pretty new to Solidworks so please forgive me. I am looking to make a drill-type part, when I create the Lofted Boss on top of the helix (using the helix as a centerline, and the two triangle sketches as my profiles), it says I cannot perform the task because would result in a zero-thickness geometry.
What does this mean, and how would I resolve this problem?
Thank you
P.S. I attached the solidworks part and the assembly which are the same model, I put both in there in case one doesn't open.
Often the profile sketch needs to go a bit further than you want to build properly. In your triangular profile sketch, try making the line segment that is collinear with the cone edge to be a construction line. Then add 3 more line segments. One line segment is parallel to the line segment you just made a construction line, and dimension it a little bit towards the center axis of the cone body. The other 2 line segments are just connecting or extending the existing line segments that make up your profile sketch.
