When user tries to launch SolidWorks, it is stuck in Loading registry. Even the SNL Client (License Manager) doesn't open at all.
However, the process is running in the task manager.
Probably not installed correctly, can you try a repair install?. Also which service pack?
I have had a couple of times where SW would not finish loading. If I used task manager to close the SW Splash screen then start SW again it works. Mine is SW2015 SP3.
So SW won't load today. Stuck on the splash screen.
Try my suggestion for Task Manager.
I have not been able to figure out why it happens but the workaround is pretty simple.
So apparently SW had problems loading the SW Utilities Add-in... I don't know what that is, should I load it or not? hmm...
I selected Yes, and it loaded fine.
My search in SW Help for Utilities Add-in gave me nothing helpful, just a PDM/vault thing which I have never used...
Utilities comes with Pro/Premium versions of SW and contains a variety of sometimes-useful apps.
Ah yes. I was able to find the correct help file on SW Utilities and verify that I really haven't used any of those features beyond Tutorials.
