I have saved our templates into EPDM vault and have then set that folder location as the document templates location inside Solidworks. When I create a new file from inside of Solidworks, it is not showing a tab with those template files shown.
Our VAR found the problem. The default template fields in the Solidworks options were blank. As soon as we defined default templates the EPDM Templates tab appeared with all the available EPDM templates. Thanks toAndries Koorzen
Make sure the files are in your local cache. I like to set my template folders up so they are refreshed during login.
Along with what Jeff said, if there are not any template files (prtdot, asmdot, drwdot) in the folder that you specify, the tab will not show up. I did some testing and by adding one of these file types it will show up but if the file is removed the tab goes away.
I added the "PART TEMPLATE.PRTDOT" file to my templates folder inside EPDM and I have set it to refresh on login but still not luck.
Just making sure, you are on the advanced setting for the new document dialog box? It looks like this below?
Yip, I am on the advanced tab but still no luck unfortunately. Our VAR took an export of our database and it seems to be working on his side but not on ours for some reason.
That is odd, sounds like something your VAR will have to sort through. To me it sounds like you are setting it up right.
Woops this is the correct Andries Koorzen. Thanks
