I want to add a sheet in a multi-page drawing, but I don't want to do it by inserting sheet format. It would be great if I could use what I have created as my extra sheet Drawing Template. The reason for this is that I want sheet 2...n to use it's own custom property callouts from the property tab builder pane, and not the ones that were inherent to sheet 1. I also have stuff that can't live in a sheet format that I want to come up automatically, such as a table. We have very limited data on our extra sheets, and generally avoid multi-page drawings, but for certain types of parts, we always have a sheet two (for example sheet metal has PEMS and flat patterns, pad printed plastics have graphic info, etc...). I have made it so no one ever needs to go in and edit a sheet format, and it is all driven from the property tab builder. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks,
Ryan
unfortunately no, you cannot currently have sheet specific custom properties or custom property tabs. you will probably have to have a master property tab that includes everything for 1 thru n sheets.
but you can bring in all of that extra stuff into sheet 2. it is a little convoluted when compared to simply adding a sheet, but here goes...
1. start a new (blank) drawing with your sheet2 template.
2. "copy" the sheet (right click on the tab at the bottom with the sheet name).
3. "paste" the sheet to the drawing you are working on (right click on the sheet name tab again).
