When I try to create a new design table, the "server busy" (switch to) message appears. I try to populate a cell by clicking a sketch dimension, feature, or feature dimension. When I select the desired item to populate the cell, the cell does not populate. A few seconds after I get a "Server busy" message. I've tried editing the table in a new window and I run into the same issue. The problem occurs in the parts and the assembly environment. The only time I've been successful in creating a table driven part is with a very simple part (extruded part). Weldment structures do not work.
We are running Solidworks 2015 and Excel 2013. I've contacted Solidworks with the problem as well as our reseller and haven't gotten an answer.
Has anyone else encountered this? What's the solution?
Just to eliminate one of the more obvious possibilities.
From solution ID S-07812:
This can occur if there is an instance of excel.exe still running as a process. Open the task manager and look for excel.exe in the list. If it is there, stop the process and try to insert a design table again.
