We're using a D-size Designjet 430 to plot our mechanicaldrawings from Solidworks. We are encountering problems plottingD-size drawings because the page must be loaded in a portraitorientation and the plotter fails to rotate the drawing tomatch.

- When the software is set to print in Landscape mode, the drawingis plotted 90 degrees off the desired orientation and is alignedwith the top of the sheet. With no automatic scaling, the drawingis clipped on the right side as it runs off the sheet. A largeamount of white space is left at the trailing end of the sheet.

- When the software is set to print in Portrait mode, the drawingis once again 90 degrees off from the desired orientation butinstead of being positioned at the top of the sheet and clippingthe right side, the drawing is now conveniently centeredhorizontally and vertically with the left and right sections of thedrawing clipped.

Long story short, changing page orientation in the software willrotate the page but it refuses to rotate the drawing along with it.It is worth noting that the drawing orientation DOES rotate withthe page rotation when printing to my small Laserjet P2015 asexpected. Therefore I assume this is a driver issue and not anissue with the Solidworks software itself.

On A, B, and C size drawings the sheet can be loaded in a landscapeorientation and this problem does not apply.

In the print properties dialogue, I've tried every combination ofportrait, landscape, auto rotate on/off, and inked area on/offpossible (8 configurations total). I've also tried manuallychanging the "5. Plot Appearance" from "RotateOff" to "Rotate 90 degrees" by using the "HPDesignJet 4xx Setup Sheet" bubble sheet with no effect on theprinted results.

At this point I'm left with two options: 1) Export to PDF and printthe PDF instead (which will be a royal pain), or 2) Throw theDesignjet out the window and get a new plotter. Hopefully there'ssomething I'm missing here. Any help or insight will beappreciated.

In case it helps, I'm using SW2007 x64 SP4, WinXP Pro x64, and thelatest drivers from HP (tried BOTH the E/A0 and the D/A1drivers...)
