I was wondering the same thing as I have a virus and need to reformat my harddrive, I was thinking to install win 10 at same time.
I also have issues with solidworks randomly closing and my PC is highly spec'd for this kind of work. So
I feel it is not a hardware or lack of resource issue for me. So your not alone.
I have Solidworks student 2014 and upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday. Everything seems to work fine except that it freezes when I do a cut display result in Flow Simulation. I guess I will get student 2015 to see if this helps.
lots of students have downloaded and installed SW2015-2016 on their laptop and experience lots of problems with the addins which are greyed out and toolboxparts that are deformed. Also on one of their pc"s the fasteningtools had disappeared.
With a few students a workaround was done by removing swvba.dll and then starting SW which start repairing SolidWorks.
But with most of them this didn't work.
Also reinstalling didn't solve their problems.
For the normal drawing commands all works fine
Doesn't look like 2014 will be supported on Windows 10 officially. It may still work for you, but could be buggy or have other issues.
