We have two classes of employees, engineers and support staff.  The engineers can of course work with Solidworks parts and assemblies.  But management wants to bring in some support staff who's job is to look at PDFs, Excel spreadsheets and other support documentation, all contained within the ePDM server.

Is there any way to all a certain group or user to only view and edit these types of views, and have no access to the parts and assemblies?  I want to do it by the file type, not the folder, since there are hundreds of folders and an engineer could accidentally save or move something where it shouldn't be.
