we have been trying to link cut list properties to custom properties for sometime now. Never have been able to make it work, if someone has the answer I would love to hear how to make it work. There maybe a work around in this case though. Have you ever linked dimensions to your properties? the extra part is creating a sketch on your flat pattern that is the same as your bounding box. with the sketch being edited, open properties, and while editing a property you can select a dimension to get it's value. great for changing parts since it should update as the sketch changes. hope this is a good work around for you.
Thanks for the response Josh! Yes actually we have done that same work around like you described and it works well, but I would just love to see SolidWorks somehow give us the ability to either use the cut-list properties like any other property or allow us the ability to link them to custom or config specific properties.
I'll cross my fingers for this to come in the future.
I have been looking to do the exact same thing - with no luck on these forums. It seems really silly to not have these things linked; SW-Material, Gauge Table, and some sort of material description. With the blank size. Does Siemens know that we cut sheet metal parts out of sheets?
I tried (unsuccessfully) to use a macro that is run every rebuild, through "Equation Activated Macros", with no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
