Hello friends , hope all of you are good
I'd like to ask you about solidcam ? does solidcam something like add in to solidworks or it's something separate ? what is the benefit of using solidcam ?
SOLIDCAM is an Add-In that works inside SOLIDWORKS. It is used for creating programs for CNC machining.
SolidCAM integrated CAM software for SolidWorks
ok , got it thank you again
Solidcam is CAM software for 3,4 & 5 axis milling, turning and mill-turn. It is produced and developed in Israel. They have been in business for about 30 years (longer than Solidworks). They used to have their own CAD platform but soon after Solidworks started they got rid of there CAD platform and integrated into Solidworks
Major benifits are that because of the integration there is no need to export to any other file type, you are in the known Solidworks platform as Solidcam sits within Solidworks. Any changes that are made to the design model after cutter paths have been created will also change seamlessly. Because you are within the Solidworks platform it also gives you the ability to model / insert jigs fixtures.
Within Solidcam there is also a module called i-machining which is unique to Solidcam, see the following link
Thank you so much Stephen
