As everyone is aware SW2007 and below does not make proper
use of Hyperthreading / Multiple cores, call it what you will.
I had read somewhere that there were going to be vast improvements in this area when SW2008 is released.
Does anybody know if SW2008 makes full use of a Duo Core 2 processor or will it still only use half of the processor for most tasks.
If this is the case then theres no doubt in my mind that SW2008 will just be another release full of eye candy.
Thank you.

It's a little unfair to say that SW doesn't do it. This is still early on in the development, and it's not just SW but all programmers everywhere who are learning more about this and rewriting code to optimize it for multiproc. Plus, a good chunk of what you are doing is completely linear logic (history tree), so some of it has to be single threaded. Even parts of the assembly are history based and have to be solved linearly. Opening assemblies and drawings should be multiproc based. I'm not sure I would say that SW08 has made "vast improvements" in that field, not sure where that came from, but I haven't done any real testing to know.
Still, there's more than that to SW08. There is eye candy to be sure, but there is also some substantial functionality as well.
