I'm working on a plastic part that has a living hinge built in (imagine a plastic C shaped clip). The tooling configuration will have the part "open," to simplify the mold but it would also need to be modeled "closed" to simulate the final production piece.
Any suggestions on how to model a flexible part like this that can easy switch between the two without crashing? Right now my thought is to essentiall extrude a "C" shape from the top plane and have the angle of the "legs" of the C defined and adjustable, then make all geometry as flexible ass possible. However, I feel that once I add fillets etc. this is just going to crash, so trying to think of a better approach before I start.
