I have a base flange. Is there anyway to extrude it from a "mid plane" in 2 directions, (like a boss extrude) rather than only 1 direction? I only see an option for 1 direction (see attachment).
Thanks

Hello @Chris Scheer you know one thing, even Boss Extrude is also a type of base flange you can either create this or that depends on our needs.

Hello Chris,
This is currently a limitation in SOLIDWORKS to have mid-plane option for closed profile sketches in Base flange feature.
I will recommend you to visit your enhancement request page then search for following enhacement to vote for it. This will help increasing the priority of the enhancement for future releases.
SPR 474665 : User requests a mid-plane option for thickness direction in a sheet metal base flange feature

Hi Chris,, I have been involved in sheet metal a long long time and never have I seen sheet metal 6'-0" thick. I think what you really want is something like this.
If you use a closed sketch for your base flange you can only extrude thickness and that goes in one direction only.
