I am trying to patch a surface with the "Filled Surface" command and I keep getting this error. I have the area I want to fill completely surrounded by a 3D sketch but it still gives me the error. I have checked to see if gaps in my existing surface could be the problem by sketching an isolated closed piece of geometry and still it gives me this error. Any ideas to this problems remedy will be appreciated. Thank you.

Below is the surface that I am trying to fill. When I select just the edges of the surface with one end open it gives me an error saying that the boundary is not closed. This is why I added the 3D sketch. Below is a picture of my selection with the 3D sketch and it again gives me the same error, "Please select edges for blending."
It's giving me the error even when I select a simple sketch like this circle.
This is suppose to work. Can you try it on a different machine?
If it´s ok with you to upload the file I can try it out if you want.
Many ways you can do it differently. Here comes a few. If I do not have the file it´s hard to judge what is the best way.
Hope this helps.
1. RMC on edge and select " edge > delete ". Choose delete feature.
2. Add a planar surface in the top and trim away your face that is planar with it. Knit them together, select an edge, RMC "Edge > Delete". choose delete hole.
3. Surface fill with 3D sketch that seems not to work on your machine.

Works fine for me, It might have to do with your machine setup.
A bit more info is appreciated to give you an answer that is not a shot in the dark.
But have you tried to pick the edges on the surface you want to add the "Fill Surface" to with the selection manager (RMC in the blue box and select selection manager) instead of using the 3D sketch.
