    Folder structure template

    Sanya Shmidt

      Hello ALL!

We have a Projects folder with project numbers:

      Projects: XXXX1

                     XXXX2

                     etc.

Every single XXXX1 folder has a set of sub folders that are always the same.

Is it possible to use a preset template in EPDM, every time you need to create folder with set of sub folders ?

Can someone tell me if this is possible to do and how?

      Thank you.

      Alex.

You can create a template to make a folder with a set of subfolders. The information on how to do this is in the Administration guide.

In the EPDM admin tool go to templates, right click and make a new one.  Fill out the required bits of info like this:

            EPDM1.png

Then in windows explorer when you make a new folder your new template will be available, like this:

            EPDM2.png

This template makes a folder with the CAM Data, Conversions, Docs, and JPGs folders within it.  JPGs has yet another subset of folders within it.  It uses the variable "assembly number" in a template data card, with a template data card variable called "t_assembly _number" to define the name of the newly created folder.  Hope this helps!
