How do I model these aligned parts while still keeping them movable?

I'm an absolute beginner with SolidWorks, and I'm trying to model my first major project.

Below is a picture of the assembly I'm trying to make. Circled in red is the part I have trouble with:

I'm having trouble adding the diagonal bars. They consist of three pieces, as can be seen on the photo. Two are welded against the tubing, the other is a hinge.

The diagonal bars must be aligned between part 1 and 2 (see image below) when part 2 is horizontally level. Part 2 must be able to hinge.

What's the best way to go about this?

Could you add additional picture views - front - right - top - that way we can see how the original pc is made ??

  While that is looking good, it is not exactly what I am looking for. For me, the most challenging part is being able to make it hinge.

    You need to add additional planes that follow the hinge angle. What I would do is create a 3D sketch of the unit completely assembled and then add your planes from there.
    
    When you look at my part I did add two planes, however yours would need to added the same way, however the driving sketch will need to be on an angle

The hinge is easy. All you need is one concentric mate in your assembly.
Simplifying it you have 3 parts. Green will be your 'fixed' part. Red will be flexible (under-defined), and blue is full mated to the red part. All you need is one concentric mate between green and red on the green crossbar pipe. You'll have to figure out the angle and planes that let the pipes swing into proper position.

This was rushed and simplified, but this is a quick model of the hinge part in 2014.

  He will need to figure out the blue line and it's placement -
  
  The way I would do it Willem is figure out where that line crosses in both vertical and horizontal bars, apply a point and draw a 3D line from point to point and add a plane at each end of that line, that is where you build the small stubby parts that are welded to the Hor and Ver bars

    I would try and break it up as best as I could by the parts they would use to weld it together. That looks to be about 8 unique parts.
    -The green back U-bent pipe
    -The jogged green pipe (x2)
    -the green cross member
    -the red u-bent pipe
    -the red stiffeners (x3)
    -the blue angled pipe
    -the male blue angled pipe connection (x2)
    -the female blue angled pipe connection (x2)
    
    That way all but the connections are simple structure members. The pipe connections then just need to be angle cut on one plane and the tilt angle can be taken care of with a concentric mate and an angle mate in the assembly. This keeps you from having like three different planes referencing each other in order to create the cut on the connection.
    
    Referencing the picture I colored, X-Y would be flat on the page with Z-axis going into the page. The angle cut just needs be the angle in X-Y between red and blue. The tilt angle is the angle the blue pipe needs to rotate into the page to meet both the green and red pipes.

Willem,

You might be too far into this now but Weldments is definitely the way forward for this project.

This would make it a mulit-body part rather than an assembly (lots of pieces of geometry within a part that are not connected together)

Below is an image from the Weldments training course (I actually taught it yesterday!)

It would basically allow you to create a series of sketches (or if you are feeling adventurous a complicated 3D sketch) and then apply the cross section.

There are plenty of weldment tutorials on YouTube and it is a really easy and intuitive part of the software to pick up
