Okay that helps but my properties.txt which shows up in File - properties contains the following which I would like to use:
But PartNo does not show in the property tab builder at all. Doesn't the the tab builder use the same list?
I guess I should just do custom properties and be done with it. But I am trying to understand the SW system.
Can you post one of the part file with all your properties and the .prtprp file for the properties tab builder?
All these properties from the txt file will show up in the file properties, but you need assign the values to show up in the PTB with correspoding property attributes
Okay now it makes sense. I have not set the properties yet. I was using the file properties text file to determine the properties I would need to fill in my title block on my newly created drawing format.
My next step use to create the property tab to create a quick way to set all the properties. This is where I was when I presented my question.
So, I now understand that I need to use them first in "file properties" to have them show up in the property tab builder.
You can use property tab builder to add properties to the part, assembly and drawing (That's the ultimate purpose of PTB)
You can populate this properties directly from the builder, from an excel file or from an access file. If you use any of the later two, you have the choice to add or modify the values anytime without doing anything with the PTB (that's the convenience)
You can control the properties with Textbox, listbox, radio button or checkbox..
