Please, could someone show me how to keep the EPDM vault folders all organized by File Type?
I click File Type, but next time it's still always organized by Name
You have to make 'File Type' the first column and sort by it.
next time you open the vault it should be sorted by 'fyle type'
Thanks for the tip. It seems to work only in Windows Explorer, and only in that session. If I close Explorer and open it again, it reverts to organized by File Name.
Also, when opening a file from SolidWorks, it never stays organized by file type
Still have to click "file type" every time, which is what I was trying to avoid.
I believe there is a current SPR relating to an enhancement request for the ability to save the sort order in the vault view its number is SPR 899514 Add ability to remember the sorting column and the sort order in a local view explorer using the Details view
I don't know if it works when you right-click on the file type bar and click 'More'
Then you rank the Columns, .. mayby this works or it don't (Then Ron is right about the SPR)
This works to sort all Windows Explorer windows. But any windows inside the EPDM vault still will not sort this way.
Similar to a few other normal Windows explorer functions that don't work inside EPDM for some reason.
1) Make sure you have only one Explorer window open. Right click on an empty space of a folder and select “View – List”, then right click again and select “Sort by – Type” (if you don’t see the “Type” option, click on “More…” at the end of Sort Options and in the list that appears find the “Type” option and bring it to the top of the list.)
2) Press the alt key to release the top menu of Explorer, and go to “Tools – Folder Options”. Go to the second tab (“View”) of the dialogue box that appears, and press the “Apply to Folders” button. You will be asked to confirm; do it.
Please, somebody smarter than me, could you write a script or make a patch or do something to fix this?
It's getting so frustrating clicking "File Type" to re-arrange these columns every single time I open a file.
Would be great to have a solution!
