Any suggestion will be highly appreciated, thank you
This sometimes happens when the VCRedist on the machine is newer than the version in the download files/ or the current download files corrupted. To fix this download the latest versions of VCRedist C++ 2005 from the Microsoft website: Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Center and Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64) from Official Microsoft Download Center
Once these files have downloaded, move them and replace the existing files in the location:
C:\Users\Media\Documents\SolidWorks Downloads\SolidWorks 2014 x64 SP02\PreReqs\VCRedist\
Then retry the installation of SolidWorks - this generally gets around this problem.
Thank you for your invaluable support, my apologies as I performed some desperate steps before your answer came
at the point (37%) I performed a forced restart , after restarting I run the installation setup again, this surpassed the 37% mark but then it got stuck to (53%) , I did the same thing which went further till 75% (refer to the attached log) , Then I carried on and clicked to install "not yet attempted section". This went on fine , Solidworks appears in my programs list. BUT I get no reaction if I click the icon, which I am pretty sure is due to bad installation. Then I performed the repair function, this resulted nothing. Now I am stuck, neither can I open Solidworks, nor can I run installation setup.
What would you recommend
Fix the current installation or start again?
In these circumstance, I would remove SolidWorks as best you can, this may need a bit of Microsoft Fix it to remove any remaining pieces.
I would then do as I said before with the Microsoft C++ components, and retry the installation. - If at any point this fails, upload your IM Logs or contact your VAR.
To help reduce the chances of any installation failures, please make sure that you are installing SolidWorks signed in as the administrator on the machine, usually best as Local Admin.
