Is there a way to define a direction (reference axis) based on a view?

Hi there,

I have a solid body that I have imported into solidworks and non of the axes directions seems to be useful for editing the model. So I need to define new sensible planes and directions. The problem is that I can't find a surface or line in the geometry that can help me to define my favorite direction. The only thing that I can do is to rotate the object to find a good view direction. Now I wonder if there is a way to define a reference axis or line based on the current view into the object. I hope that this is clear but finding a reference axis based on the viewpoint will help me a lot to orient my object and make changes.  Thanks!
