Display issue in Windows 7 under VirtualBox

I am running SolidWorks 2014 under Windows 7 in a VirtualBox virtual machine. Menus sometimes do not display if they are over graphics area. If I make the FeatureManager Design Tree wide, so that it covers the graphics area, then the menu displays fine.

 

I also have problems if I make a construction line and it is horizontal or vertical. The line is invisible. If its on an angle, then it displays. I completely uninstalled and re-installed, no joy.

 

Any ideas?

Correct Answer

It turns out that 3D acceleration causes problems. With that off it works fine. 2D acceleration works fine. I'm running VirtualBox 4.3.28-100309~Ubuntu~raring.
