Hi All...

When designing crankshafts and camshafts, it is pretty common to need to rotate and translate a pattern, for instance a lobe on a camshaft.  I've done this in two different ways.  The first is to make a linear pattern (say sketch driven) and then rotate the elements individually.  The other is to make sketches at each station and make the rotation in a sketch whose dimension is tied to a design table.  My new favorite is the latter, although it takes a lot of time to set up.

Am I missing an easier method?  For instance, if this table driven pattern had rotation as well as translation (although it would need a Z axis as well) I would be in good shape.

Best Regards and Thanks in Advance..

Alan
