Is there a way to have associative dimensions in fractions whilethe drawing or model is in decimals?

I have associative dimensions on some of my structural membersso I can update the sketch and it updates the BOM but I would liketo show things like angle iron as 2 x 2 x ¼ and HSS as 2 x 2 x0.25. This is how the guys in my shop like to see as they canquickly tell what it is.

It should just be a matter of RMB (right mouse button) on yourdimension, select Properties, this should bring up your DimensionProperties window. Under the box titled 'Units' make certain thatthe 'Use document's Units' box is NOT selected. By this point youshould have access to the 'Units' button now, select that andchoose how you would like to see your dimensions. Keep in mind thechanges you make will only affect the dimension selected. This isnot a global change, that is done w/ the document properties dialogbox. Hope this helps...

Yes SolidWorks is capable of this, we do it all the time where we give overall dimensions in fractions. The fractional dimensions are completely associative and will update with any changes. It is just a matter of accessing the properties of those dimensions that you want to express as fractional. Of course, the modify dialog box will continue to display all values in decimal format.
