I have created variable mapping in DWG file and DataCard shows the values if I enter the values in ATTEDIT. But if I enter the values in DataCard it doesn't show up in the DWG file. Can anyone tell me the reason for this problem?

Vignesh,
Yes. I have created attributes and block. When I insert the block it does open the attributes dialog box and I can enter the title block values. The title block values shows up in the Data card but not vise versa. My question is, why it does not work vise versa?
Hello,
If the Title block values come into the data card then data card values must also come in the title block.
Please check the tab of the data card on which you are filling the values.
Say there are 3 sheets in Auto CAD file, you would see three tabs on the Data card.
Say sheet 2 has the block & the attributes , you would need to fill the second tab of your data card so as to see them on the title block.

Hello,
Can you please attach the data card & the drawing file ?
Please also mention the version & Service Pack of the EPDM.

Hello,
In the DWG files i can see lots of block attributes but i am not able to see a block.
And I guess this why u are not able to see things on the card & vice versa.
Thanks & Regards,

I have created block and attributes in the dwg file. Because when I insert the drawing file into new drawing through insert command, dialogue box will open and I can enter the values there.
In Acad, Step 1: Insert command
Step 2: Choose the Acad template which I have assigned attributes. (Its not .dwt file. Its .dwg file. In dwt file, "Edit Attribute will not work)
Step 3: Enter the title block values here. This values will appear at right place in the title block.
I referred these Block name and attributes in the EPDM. I matched both ACAD attributes and EPDM variables and I choose block name DWG_TITLEBLOCK which is available in EPDM already which is for acad drawing. This is what I learnt from internet. See below EPDM variable mapping images. Refer below YouTube link.

Please let me know if I need to follow any other procedure to make success this task.
Hello,
Go into your dwg file.
Place your block attributes at the respective places.
Now Select the entire sheet format and say convert block.
There save the block as 'DWG_TITLEBLOCK'.
Now check the files and data card.
I have attached screen shots from draft sight.
The procedure remains the same in Auto CAD also.

Please NOTE that the block name inside Auto CAD drawing & block name used for variable mapping in EPDM must be same.
Hello,
I tried that too. But still its not working. This time, the Acad entries doesn't appear in the data card. Its not working both ways. I have question about block creation.
1. I purged all blocks to erase previouse history in the Acad file.
2. Done attribute definition in the title block
3. Created block and Named it DWG_TITLEBLOCK. (The check box unchecked for "Allow block to explode") The template disappeared after creating the block.
Do I need to insert the block DWG_TITLEBLOCK in the same file and then save?
Vignesh,
I found few things. This is working both ways when I enter the values in the same file. i.e. When I enter the values in the data card, it appears in the drawing and wise versa. But when I insert this .dwg file into my existing drawing where I need to replace new template, its not working. Do you know the reason for this?
