Should be possible. You would have to split the sketch at two locations. Also make sure you select merge arc in the while adding the weldment feature so that you get only one body
Deepak is correct. it is possible, as you can see below...... ok mine is a little larger and is angle iron but it shows how to do it. It was created with a circular sketch with a single split in it. Have fun
You don't even need to remove the arc from the circle as it would pick up that too
