Say I have a lofted tube (circular) and I wish to make a circular cut of know diameter along it minimizing the volume of material leftover. Is there a way for me to do that?

To be clear, I do not wish to shell the tube. I want to make a straight cut along it. If the cut passes the exterior of the original tube, that is OK.
