I have an assembly with options, each option is a configuration, how do I combine them as needed?
An MS Excel spreadsheet in a design table controlling hundreds of configurations and derived configurations in both parts and assemblies is how I do that.
I would use the Design Table there you can see the configuration differences in an Excel spreadsheet and you can create a custom configuration by Entering a new line at the bottom. You can even use Excel formulas to link values to other configurations and apply mathematical calculations.
One thing that I have done already is to load all the configurations and suppress and un suppress the ones you need or don't need.......
how do you suppress or un suppress two or more configurations?
You basically can highlight the entire feature manager tree and suppress everything of un-suppress everything or individually, right click on the component and select suppress or un-suppress
Another option would be to organize the "Option" components into Folders then when you want to combine options you create a new configuration based off of the default configuration and un-suppress the desired Folders.
