I have several macros that allow me to check-in multiple non-SW files at a single time into our WPDM Vault. I currently need to have SW open in order to run them. I would like to be able to run them with only SW Explorer open.
You would need to use Visual Studio (e.g. just the free Express version) to create an executable.
Or put the macro into an Excel macro.
Visual Studio Community is also free (for students, open source contributors or small teams) and has no limitations of express version.
Did you try Solidworks Task scheduler.
I haven't gotten to the point with my programming skills to tackle executables.
I did try the excel suggestion you gave. I put all my code in a module and in the workbook open event called the main routine and then quit excel at the end. The only thing I have left to do is enter an if statement to handle when excel already has an open workbook. It's a pretty good alternative to an executable. The only way a user can even tell excel is being used is when the excel splash screen shows (if excel wasn't already open). I set the app visibility to false and let the code run.
Matt, send over the codes and I would try converting to exe file.
