Hi there,
It sounds more like a general corruption within the installation of SW
I would recommend a repair on the SW installation, failing that a full clean uninstall and reinstall
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program. RMB on SolidWorks and choose Change. In the SW installation manager choose Repair
Saving out to eDrawings is part of the key SW functionality so it will most probably be some corruption within then install. A repair should hopefully restore it back to default otherwise a Reinstall will put it down as a default working installation
SW2015 SP3 saving to eDrawings works on my machine fine
Thanks
Richard
I have a work around for this guys. It seems to be something to do with mates or mate errors. For the sake of saving the file, try suppressing all the mates within the assembly before saving. This stopped the crashing for us.
Hope it works for you all until SW pull their finger out and fix the problem.

Hi All
i'm also encountering the same issue, i am Using solidworks 2015 sp4.
I tried repair, and complete uninstall and then reinstall but still the same.
solidworks crash when saving as a edrawing.
But on my computer, also edrawing application cannot open when i tried to double click.
I tried using open GL to check if it might be a graphic card issue, but still it crashes.
When I try to create an RX file, solidworks doesn't crash, but what happens is it hangs.
So i cannot complete the RX creation.
I check this SPR 708808, it shows that the version is "none none" does it mean it is in the latest version of solidworks that is affected?
Regards
Erick
I've been experiencing a similar problem. When I try to save/publish an edrawing file, SolidWorks sits there and thinks and thinks and thinks and thinks...
