I need help, please. I'm a student and can't figure out how to download Solidworks Professional. I have the standard version but I need the toolbox. Any Ideas?
As a student, you can buy the student version of SolidWorks which will contain toolbox. Other than that, short of paying to upgrade from standard to professional, there's no legal way that I know of to get it.
Bummer, lol. Thanks, Jeff.
Depending on what parts you need, you can download quite a few models from http://www.mcmaster.com/.
McMaster basically IS my toolbox!
Sounds pretty cool. Does that mean I can select a bolt off the McMaster site, drop it in an assembly and it will show in the BOM?
Download it and save it, then insert it in your assembly. And yes, it will show in your BOM.
WOOO HOOOO! I'm going to try it right now. Thank you, everyone. You guys are great!
I haven't used Toolbox in years.
All our library parts are either self created, McMaster or from website of part supplier, if they have CAD downloads. Most big time companies have downloads available. If they don't, often a call to their engineering dept. will get you what you need, just not "instantly".
