I am trying to do a couple of static tests on a simple RHS frame.
It refuses to successfully mesh. I get
I can't make any sense from the Failure Diagnostics. Can someone help here?
yeah, same error here... I gave up and simplified it.
The problem is because of the interference in the body.
The studies which you have created are having one beam body and remaining bodies are treated as solid.
Since the beams are not trimmed properly the weldments are interfering each other at the highlighted places in the below image.
This problem can be overcome be treating all the bodies as beam elements in simulation(Refer the below image). The drawback here is that you cant apply load over the faces but you can apply fixtures/ loads over the beam joints and the beam bodies.
However there is another approach to solve this problem by doing some geometry clean up.
Trim the weldments which are creating the interferences and define a bonded contact between the touching faces. This should resolve all the problems and you should be able to achieve required results.
Vagulus these are similar issue like you had in your other component where had body interfering and some bodies were not beams because of split.
So to avoid the interference issue, try making the part in one feature (several groups of same profile)
