I have created a solid extrude and would like to know if it is at all possible to make the part bend along a sketched edge when converting it to a sheet metal?
Thanks in advance
Do you have a screen shot or picture
I basically want to bend the part along the sketched lines with variable bend angles.
Not quite sure how to use the "Sketched Bend" feature properly. At least the way I used it didn't work.
Try one bend line at a time
Change the Bend Radius
I tried that as well. I even deleted all the other lines out of the sketch and also tried to have the lines not go outside of the part itself.
Does the sketch have to be on another surface or plane?
Here is how my selection looks like.
Thanks for your help
And what happens when you check ok? At second glance I see that your default bend radius is set to .3937 in. This is probably why it is messing up. You can change the default bend radius by editing the "Sheet-Metal" feature.
It gives me an error message:
"Cannot create bend as sketch line intersects."
Ok - try this....
Make 3 individual sketches and bring them up to the circle, not the center as you show. My guess is the lines touching is where your issue is...
That's pretty weird... I have tried that before and it didn't work. So I went ahead and did it again and this time it worked.
P.S. @Jamil: I was messing around with the bend radius before that. So that didn't seem to have been the issue.
You can just convert it to sheet metal first and then add a sketched bend feature.
