I am trying to edit an .swb file but the sketch is got getting defined in any way. no matter how many dimensions or relations i add. Can macros be edited first of all ? and if so why arent the changes being reflected ? There is an attached file of the part if someone could get it great but is it possible to edit it ?
Hardik - you dont edit the .swb file..... you have to run this file through the solidworks macro...... go to Tools/Macro/Run and select the .swb file whereever you have it stored and left solidworks process it. You will be prompted as to where you want to place the processed file on your computer, pick a spot - even the desktop if you are not sure where you want to put it and then double click the .swb file. Solidworks will process it and you will end up with a part file or assembly file full of parts (for example a ball bearing). Now you can edit away.
Depending on where you got the .swb file from you may not end up with solidworks parts, in which case you may need to run Featureworks to create the parts.
I download a lot of bearings from the SFK web site and this is how they come in, but solidworks processes everything in to native SW parts.... very nice.
