I have an assembly containing an aluminum treadplate floor with a bunch of equipment on top of it. I have applied the standard SW aluminum treadplate appearance to the top surface of the extruded rectangle. The treadplate appearance of the floor can be viewed at any angle other than the direct top view (see attachment); the appearance disappears in the top view regardless of zoom level. This issue applies at the part, assembly, and drawing level. I would like to send the client drawings that show the tread pattern in the top view. Any ideas? Do I need to actually make the 3D treadplate pattern instead of just doing an appearance?

Thank you,

Chris
