I have an L4 Vertebrae "model' that was created from a CT SCAN - I am told that this type of image or "point cloud" can be made into a solid part. I have tried a number of options but none have worked. HELP PLEASE!
You apparently have a STL file somewhere as you have imported it into SW.
In Solidworks, goto open, then filter for STL files. Then select your STL file that you have. Then select options. That will open a window and you can select import as -> Solid Body
Then you will have a SW solid body from your STL file.
Let me know if you need further clarification.
Please refer to attached file in Solidworks. I imported the FILE as you describe, however it is not a SOLID. I can not measure it or assign material properties to it. Perhaps this is the student version limitation?
As Mike Price stated, you need to import the STL using the Solid Body option, not the Graphics Body option.
