I've tried several types of mates to insert this shaft inti this coupling. The spring pin has to move in the slot and cause the coupling to move axially.
It tells me that the selected mate could not be successfully added. Would I like to force this mate to solve? (Other mates will be broken and shown in red.)
This groove started out as a sketch that I wrapped onto the inside cylindrical surface of the camming coupling. Then I used something like a surface cut??? Sorry but I'm new to this and am still uncertain how I get some of these features done.The mates don't seem to like working on features created by wraps. I have tried mechanical mates and advanced mates too. Nothing seems to work. One problem I think is that the pin is a write-only feature. I would later like to animate the shaft revolving and causing the coupling to move along it's long axis. I might try next to sketch an arc for construction and use a path mate from a point on the pin. There is a point that comes with the pin that I think I could use. Don't know if an arc for construction would be o.k. for a path?
mate the edge of the pin to the face of the slot using a tangent mate. then mate the id of the part to the od of the shaft and this should give you what you want.
