Configurable I/O Points?

Hello,

Has anyone successfully implemented configurable I/O points in the SWE PLC Manager?  For example, I would like to set up an I/O card that has 16 configurable I/O points (each point can be individually configured as an input or an output).  I can't figure out how to accomplish this.  When assigning circuits to the manufacturer part, you have to define each point as an input or output.  This basically limits you to one configuration (say 12 inputs and 4 outputs).

Correct Answer

Hello Mike,

I just go ahead and add say 16 in and 16 out to the mfg part number, I then configure it when I assign the digital i/o.

 

As long as I watch what physical i/o address I grab it works well.

 

Give me a shout if needed and I can get you some screen shots.
