When I try to make a center mark, the "Slot Center Mark" Box is always checked. Even if I uncheck it, the next time I go into the center mark command it is checked again, this is very annoying, anyway to default this off?
Solidworks 2014 SP5.0
It's a document property so it's different for every file. If it's something you never want to use you'll have to update the drawing template and then reload the new template into every drawing individually. (There may be a way to create a script to update all of them, but I'm not good enough with that stuff to know how to do that.)
Interesting, so it will keep defaulting on even when you turn it off in the same drawing just because the template has it? I will have to test this out
Yes I believe so, though I'd originally assumed you were talking about multiple files vs. working in the same file. And now that I'm looking into it more, I thought there was an option to turn it off in options, however I'm not finding anything.
I'm assuming that the box below is what you're talking about? To be honest, I'd never noticed it before, and am not sure about it's function. However, I'm pretty sure that if you're placing a center mark on a circle instead of a slot you can ignore it, and the center mark will be placed okay in spite of it being checked. Why do you need to un-check it?
Thank you for the reply, yeah I know to un-check it to turn it off, however, every time I go into the command it's checked again! And since' I don't do very many slotted holes it's really annoying, it didn't use to be like this...
Why do you need to un-check it?
because it puts a tick mark on non slotted holes in the middle of nowhere
in addition to Glenn´s suggestion.
Try this: Have not tried it myself though.
Now let´s see what happens.
Tried that already, didn't work I wish SolidWorks remembered your last thing you did and kept it there, for instance like on extrusion, remember the last way you did it not to always default to "blind"
