    gear life calculation

      is this possible to calculate gear life in a spur gear assembly using cosmos.

          It all depends on how you calculate gear life currently. If you rely on the std AGMA Strength Formulas, COSMOSWorks stress data isn't going to help you much. If you have a non-standard gear form or use a non-AGMA method based on measured or classically calculated stresses, COSMOSWorks can automate portions of that but you'll still need to calculate life manually.

          I wouldn't recommend using the Fatigue study in COSMOSWorks Pro for gear life predictions unless you have a really odd tooth profile. There are more gear-specific methods that take into accound hardness and surface treatment for std gears.
