I'm trying to simplify linear bearings for FEA of assemblies. When things aren't susceptible to falling apart it seems fairly straightforward to modeling a square rail and bearing car with non-penetrating surfaces. However, when I mount one on its side I can't get my mind around how to restrain it. Any suggestions?
we recently did a project with ball screws and linear rails and used spring connectors to idealize the bearings. SOLIDWORKS Simulation - Representing Ball Screws And Linear Rails In Your Analysis | SOLIDWORKS Tutorials
I'm not sure I'm completely wrapping my head around the geometry you're looking to connect together but that might be a place to start. Then you don't have to deal with no penetration.
