Every time that I update my model in Solidworks and then update it in Composer, all my views are gone. I had boms and call outs on some pages and all I am left with is 1 sheet with the model on it. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Can you break down you workflow for us to better advise. Are you updating your entire assembly or just geometry?
IMO I try to never update my entire assembly. It is very rare that this would ever be needed also. I have seen this problem happen when updating full assemblies before along with other errors. It is much safer and simpler to update the geometry of the parts that changed. If it is a new part I will normally just merge the part into it. If it is a lot of parts and I have no choice but update the whole assembly i always make a copy of my original file first just in case any errors occur.
The behavior you are seeing is due to an improper update of your SMG. Updating your top level SMG is totally fine and actually the recommended workflow. However, there is a long list of rules that must be followed in order for it to work properly. If one of the rules is broken, the result can be missing geometry, empty views, broken BOMS etc.
Here are the most common causes for failed updates:
These are all easy to fix, just need to figure out which rule is being broken and your updates will work fine after that.
