I have created a decal using a jpeg from Adobe and I have
placed it on a flat surfcae that represents a piece of glass. I can
see it just fine in SW with photoworks running but I'd like to see
it in an E-Drawing. Is this possible?
I'm not 100% sure about this but if you use a shaded view in
your drawing/e-drawing you should be able to see the decal. I know
it works in drawings just unsure about the e-drawing. I'm assuming
your using SW 2007? Make sure you don't have the option "hide
decals in SW" checked in PhotoWorks options.
I'm using 2006. Is the photoworks option you're reffering to
inside the e-drawing?
BTW, I talked to Richard Doyle last night at our local user group
meeting and he had suggested that I contact you about this
question. I told him I was already looking at you blog to see if I
could get an answer. His suggestion, BTW, was to insert a jpeg of
the decal while in e-drawings, so I'll try that one also.
many thanks.
Just getting started with Photoworks for a few pictures, I'll be
submitting something in the future for you and others to judge.
The option would be under PhotoWorks options in SolidWorks.
When you add-in PhotoWorks there is a PhotoWorks option button on
the toolbar and the PhotoWorks pull down menu. I believe the decal
option is under system options.
Once you've placed your decal create your SW drawing and make sure
the drawing view is set to shaded mode. You should be able to see
your decal in the drawing view in shaded mode.
Now create your e-drawing and see if the decal shows up. I'm not
sure if it will or not?
Yah, once you get some PhotoWorks seat time under your belt you
should enter the PhotoWorks contest.

Any recent update on decals in edrawings?
Edrawings is the viewer with EPDM, so a file with a decal is not seen correctly by anyone unless they open in SW.
