how do i insert a snapshot of a 3d model into word as a picture
awsome thanks. what is snapshot used for then. also in our company we use servers with all our files on and some of our guys don't have access to solidworks from there computers so i want to be able to save a picture as such of the model so they can use it in word is this possible.
A snap shot is a picture of the screen using other software when not in SW. Yes you can save the pictures in word.

Give them free eDrawings viewer which can open SOLIDWORKS files: Free eDrawings Viewer for SolidWorks, DWG, and DXF Files
Do your coworkers have access to eDrawings?
If so, they can open the files when they need to and create their own jpeg using Windows Snipping tool.
Plus they'll be able to pan and rotate (section, zoom, etc) for the view they need instead of having to take the one you send them or having to waste your time as they explain what they need from you.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Kevin
Take a snap shot using any screen capture tool like snipping tool and then copy from there and paste into word file.
OR save a screen shot from the model and insert into the word file.
I believe you could also embed eDrawinsg into the word file (or PPT file)
