how to perform a balance simulation

    Dustin Stancato

      Hello all,

So attached i have the file i am trying to perform this on. I am trying to figure out how i can test this table for balance and if there is a direct force applied on the farthest edge of the table when can i expect it to tip over. i understand how to do simulation tests and i have performed on for stress and how strong the table will be but the test requires the base plate to be fixed (as if it were bolted to the floor or somthing.

      Thank you

this has come up before, balance would indicate it is no longer a static problem. so you would want to move to motion. in motion you will be doing rigid body kinematics (no deformations), if you were successful there, then you could move to nonlinear dynamic to take both effects into account.

Another option would be to fix the base and then evaluate the force distribution. It may tell you if your system will not be balanced.
