Is it possible to remove that line? Leaving the value and leaders only.
Try this option...
He appears to be in ISO standard, I could not find a way to do it.
Or maybe this, in a drawing.

Unfortunately that hides the entire dimension line, even on the outside of the extension lines, and it hides the arrows too.
True, but the line went away
There is a box in the options for linear dimensions for "Remove dimension lines for outside arrows." This seems like exactly what you want... except it doesn't do anything. In my brief tests with different dimension styles I couldn't find any difference with that box checked or unchecked. Instead if you switch the text position to be in line with the leader instead of above it, then the dimension line will not show between the extension lines for outside arrows (whether or not the box is checked). I don't know if you have the option or even want to use this text position though.
You are correct, only with the dimension in-line will the middle line disappear. This style is acceptable to me.
I do not know what version of SW you are using but if you highlight the dimension and select the Leaders section of the dimension editor on the left side of the window you can deselect the smart dimension icon and select the arrows out option icon and the line disappears at least on 2014.
